Special Thursday

(First written on February 10, 2012) Last night, a cold Thursday night in London, I went to RADA in Bloomsbury to see a production by third year students. Three girls were performing The Maids. One young lady really stood out for me, she was magnificent. Her name is Rosie Hilal, she is Anglo-Turkish and showed such precision in every movement and expression that I often found myself taking her performance in even when she was not speaking. That accuracy is what I am craving for.

It was nice to be at the school itself to see the play, to see old students’ pictures on the walls, to take in the space.

I will be back there next Saturday – for a completely different experience…
